This was from a website photoshopping men into women.

Jan 22 -- Eddie loves Elvis

You know the cover story would mention his worship of EP at least twice. And it did.

Jan. 19 - Dolly's birthday celebrated by EW

From EW's blog: The woman has played with literally everyone from Kenny Rogers to Culture Club. She's been covered by the White Stripes. And she's impersonated Elvis (who, by the way, wanted to record "I Will Always Love You" but never did because Dolly wouldn't sign over the publishing rights to him.)
P.S. This is the bad picture they used. Not flattering!

Jan 16 - 1/2 off calendar sale

Of course mid-January is the best time to buy a calendar at discount prices. At B&N they had the Elvis a day calendar on sale. I did not buy as I already have my Tim McGraw monthly calendar on display.

Jan 16 - Robbie & Elvis

Why does this keep on happening? When searching for the most recent Robbie Williams YouTube posting, an Elvis video pops up:

Jan 15 - Hollywood Book and Poster errand

No surprise, there's Elvis posters and postcards for sale everywhere in this Hollywood landmark. I was, however, buying the poster to Marie Antoinette.

Jan 15 - Mention in some article

I've been powering thru magazines today so I can't remember the exact context, but I do remember reading the full "Elvis Presley" name in some article.

Jan 13 - Essential Elvis again

In prime placement of the new releases at Target.

Jan 10 - Nerd Girl earlier book

Enjoyed Nerd Girl so much I'm reading her first book -- and already there's an Elvis mention.

Jan 10 - Prime placement on new releases

At the Virgin Megastore, the Essential Elvis got prime placement at the new release shelf. Then I went to find the new Million Dollar Quartet Cd, and was mighty pleased to find Elvis not shuttled off with the oldies but in the prime Rock section and given the above shelf section to again promote the Essential Cd. Good job, Elvis. Sell some records. I did my part!

Jan 10 - reading the magazines under the dryer at the hairdressers

I was reading the current issue of Flaunt while getting my hair done and sadly didn't get to finish the article, but of course in the article about Manuel of Nashville he told the story of helping Nudie make the gold lame suit for Elvis. He also said it didn't iron well!

Jan. 8 - Tim and Faith splitting up?

In an online gossip article about Tim and Faith, one person left a comment saying Tim is always trying to be polite like Elvis, saying Ma'am and Sir.

Jan 5 - Bubba Ho Tep on IFC late night

Didn't catch it in the theater, but did start watching it on IFC. Bruce Campbell was good but I didn't care much for the movie and fell asleep before it ended.

Jan 5 - EW again

In the obits, mention in the two lines about the songwriter who recently died who wrote "Burning Love."

Jan. 5 - Oh No They Didn't

This was on the Oh No They Didn't website:

Cybill says Elvis Doesn't Care about Gai People

Many years ago, you dated Elvis Presley. How did you meet?
Cybill Shepherd: [In a thick Southern accent] His people called me up, actually. It was before the fat Elvis, bless his heart! I definitely had a love affair with Elvis before the fat Elvis. I think it was ’73 or ’74. If you really want to know, I wrote a book called Cybill Disobedience, and you can get it on the Internet. The title of the chapter about Elvis is “White Boys Don’t Eat.”

Oh my God. What did you do on those dates?
Cybill Shepherd: Ate chicken-fried steak, deep-fried peanut-butter-and-mayonnaise sandwiches. He had screenings every Wednesday night at this huge movie theater—private screenings with 50 of his closest friends. One of the movies we saw was Sunday Bloody Sunday. They started running the picture, and there was a scene between two gay men. Elvis said, “Ew, gross. Turn off the movie!”

How do you feel about this move to ban models who are too thin?
Cybill Shepherd: I think it’s one of the most important things that anybody could do. When I see women that thin, and they look like they’re starving to death, I go, Oww. When I see women walk across the street in high heels, with every step in my head, I’m going, Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch. It doesn’t turn me on. So many of them on the runway just look like big blanks. I just find that horrific. I can’t look at the clothes. I find myself looking at the woman. Makes me want to go have a big, old cheeseburger.

January 5 - Rock and Roll Xmas

Listening to my songs in my library, in this song, GT asks for a photo of Elvis for Xmas (I think, I just heard it and was barely paying attention as I'm doing other things).

Jan 2 - Flipping thru the book

Picking up a book of Bob Dylan interviews from the library, trying to decide if I'll check it out or not, and saw a quote where some guy named Sam who is interviewed along with Bob says "If James Dean had been a singer, he'd have been Ricky Nelson. Elvis said that?"

Jan 2 - Hitstory is not history

So this Elvis hits album was listed on the front page of iTunes today under staff favorites.
