Entertainment Weekly never disappoints. this week, in the article on p. 69 about the new version of The Outsiders, Francis Ford Coppola is quoted:Perhaps the most noticeable change is the new soundtrack, which cuts back on the velvety score by Coppola's late father, Carmine, substituting the rock & roll extravangza that the director originally wanted. "I listened to it later and thought, this is a little thick. Like a curtin. But I didn't feel comfortable removing his cues. I'd say, 'Hey, Dad, maybe we could use a little more Elvis Presley here.' There came a point where if I put in some more greaser music, it would then remove his. So I couldn't do it."
